Think excitement,
talk excitement;
act out excitement,
and you are bound to become an excited person.

Life will take on a new zest,
deeper interest and greater meaning.

You can think, talk and act yourself
into dullness or into monotony
or into unhappiness.

By the same process you can build up inspiration,
excitement and surging depth of joy.

Chapter V - 5

I walk down a different street. 2

[I changed my lifestyle; I don't want to have
situations like that all the time.
I learned, and I'm smarter now.]

Chapter IV -4

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

[I see another situation like the others coming up.
This time I'm smarter - I avoid it.]
Chapter III - 3

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it there.
I still fall in -
it's a habit.
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

[I encounter another situation just like the last two.
Again, I handle it the same way as I always do.
and got into a mess again;
this time I was smarter - I got out before it got bad.]
Chapter II - 2
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place.
But it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

[I encounter the same situation as the last one.
It's not my fault, and I handle it the same way as I always do, too.
It doesn't work this time either, and I'm in a mess again;
it takes another while to get out of it.]
It's like the man who comes to the tree at the
fork in the road and says (for the tree to hear),
''Which way shall I go, this way or that?'
'Go! Take one way and go!"  4

Sometimes (actually, quite often)
you have to step out of your ordinary way of doing things;
"outside the box",
and change your thinking,
your habits
- your perspective
(also read Perspective - Grandpa, Perspective)
and go about things a totally different way.

Possibilities are not important.
It is what happens
  that actually matters.

Chapter I - 1
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost, I am helpless.
It takes forever to find a way out.

[I encounter a situation in life that looks familiar to others I've had.
I handle it the same way as I always do.
It doesn't work, and I'm in a mess;
it takes quite a while to get out of it.]

Definition of Insanity:
"doing the same thing over and over again
that never worked before,
and expecting different results"
