Self-discipline is what it takes
to find a way to win;
to see if you have what it takes,
just take a look within. 1
If you think you are beaten,
If you think you dare not,
If you want to win,
but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch
If you think you'll lose,
For out in the world we find
success begins with a person's will;
it's all in the state of the mind.
Life's battles don't always go
to the stronger and faster one;
But sooner or later
the one who wins
Is the person who thinks they can. 2
Winners always have a goal or plan.
Losers always have an excuse.
giving up easily,
for your actions,
Always having an excuse
for your actions,
Taking the initiative,
Waiting to be told what to do,
Knowing what you want
and setting goals
to achieve it,
Wishing for things,
but taking no action,
Seeing the big picture,
and setting your goals accordingly,
where you are today,
Someone suggested that I failed in love.
Well, you are alone.
While it’s true that I am alone,
it doesn’t mean failure.
The love is still with me:
it resides within.
That can't leave,
or die. 4
If there was ever a time to dare,
to make a difference,
to embark on something worth doing,
IT IS NOW.
Not for any grand cause, necessarily . . .
but for something that tugs at your heart,
something that's your inspiration,
something that's your dream.
You owe it to yourself to make your days here count.
Know, though, that things worth doing seldom come easy.
There will be good days.
And there will be bad days.
There will be times when you want to turn around,
pack it up, and call it quits.
Those times tell you
that you are pushing yourself,
that you are not afraid to learn by trying.
Winners never quit.
Quitters never win . . .
Because with an idea,
determination, and the right tools,
you can do great things.
Let your instincts, your intellect,
and your heart, guide you.
In the depth of winter,
I finally learned
that there was in me
an invincible summer. 5
Believe in the incredible power of the human mind.
Of doing something that makes a difference.
Of working hard.
Of laughing and hoping.
Of lazy afternoons.
Of lasting friends.
Of all the things that will cross your path this year.
The start of something new
brings the hope of something great,
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. 6
You have been
criticizing yourself for years
and it hasn't worked.
Try approving of yourself
and see what happens. 7
In everyone's life there are moments
of pride and accomplishment
that are remembered forever.
Through the years, you have set goals
and met each challenge
with enough courage and determination
to overcome the many obstacles
that you've encountered along the way.
Success is not measured
by how well you fulfill the expectations of others,
but by how honestly you live up to your own expectations.
Because you have been true to yourself
in the pursuit of your dream,
you have earned this moment
and the right to be proud of your accomplishment.
Always Remember Your Achievements with Pride 8
Every morning you are handed 24 golden hours.
They are one of the few things in this world
that you get free of charge.
If you had all the money in the world,
you couldn't buy an extra hour.
What will you do with this priceless treasure?
Remember, you must use it,
as it is given only once.
Once wasted you cannot get it back. 9
When the going gets tough
and you need someone
to listen and
help see you through
My wish is that
you think of me –
and know that
I'll be there for you.
The difference between winners
and losers is Attitude. 10
