False friends aren't always that bad
because it shows you about yourself
and teaches you to be strong and life goes on.
5

Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts,
While others remain – constant and loyal,
And we are never, ever the same.
6

True friendship is like sound health,
the value of it is seldom known until it is lost.
7
Live with those from whom you can learn;
let friendly intercourse be a school for knowledge,
and social contact, a school for culture;
to make teachers of your friends
is to join the need of learning to the joy of converse **.
8

Death is not the greatest loss in life.
The greatest loss
    i
s what dies inside us while we live. 9

Take the time today
to tell your friends
the difference they have made
in your life.
10

I have spent many days stringing and unstringing my instrument
while the song I came to sing remains unsung.
11

Stop thinking, stop wringing, stop cringing, stop running,
stop second-guessing, stop waffling, stop denying, stop crying;
just sing your song . . .

My friend, without you, life would have had less meaning,
less genuine contentment, joy and pleasure that friendship brings.
Thank you for being my friend.
Friendship with oneself is all-important
because without it
one cannot be friends with anyone else in the world.

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,

Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.

And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,

He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.

Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.

"Tomorrow!" I say, "I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him."

But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram sir, Jim died today."

And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner,
a vanished friend.
Fair weather friends are not worth much.
nor should they have them.
Beware of those you allow around you.
For if you lay down with dogs,
you will come up with their fleas.
2
Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone,
tell them – show them.

Don't be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.
Can miles truly separate you from friends?
If you want to be with someone you love,
aren't you already there?
3
Because when you decide that it is the right time
it might be too late.

Seize the day.
Never have regrets.

And most importantly, stay close to your friends and family,
for they have helped make you
the person that you are today. 4

A false friend
is more dangerous
than an open enemy.
