Love is the will to extend one's
growth.

The value of the personal
relationship
to all things is
that it creates intimacy
and intimacy creates
understanding
and understanding
creates love.

Friendship marks a life even more deeply than love. Love risks degenerating into
obsession; friendship is never anything but sharing. 1

Love comes through the eyes
that
see
and through
the ears that
hear,
for people are quite beautiful,
and words make feelings clear.

Love comes through the hands
that
touch
with unabashed affection,
for only through skin-to-skin
can love
maintain its true direction.

Love comes through
the
tastes and smells
of fresh
and well-cooked food,
for in the gift of nourishment
is much else that is good.

But though love comes through
senses five,
love comes
from the heart,
for there resides
the greater love
of which ours
is a part.
2

     And always,
     there is that important distinction;
     to love
     and
     to
be “in love”.
Can one have love? If we could, love would need to be a thing,
a substance that one can have, own, possess.

Obsession is a state
of mental and clinical disorder due to which people get highly self-centered
and feel rather insecure towards the other person.
They would rather attempt at tying down the other person
instead of understanding their emotions and needs.
3

The truth is, there is no such thing as "love."
"Love" is an abstraction, perhaps a goddess or an alien being,
although nobody has ever seen this goddess
.
In reality, there exists only the act of loving.

To love is a productive activity.
It implies caring for,
knowing,
responding,
affirming,
enjoying:
     the person,
     the tree,
     the painting,
     the idea.

It means bringing to life,
increasing his/her/its aliveness.

It is a process,
self-renewing
and self-increasing.
4
If love touches you once,
it touches you
forever.

True love never dies
and lives on
and on.
