Living with integrity means:
Not settling for less
than what you know you deserve in your relationships.
Asking for what you want and need from others.
Speaking your truth,
even though it might create conflict or tension.
Behaving in ways
that are in harmony with your personal values.
Making choices based on what you believe,
and not what others believe. 2
~There is a time to make things happen,
and a time to let things happen.
~People may doubt what you say,
but they will believe what you do.
~We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give.
~Courage does not always roar.
Sometimes, it is the quiet voice
at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow."
~Kindness is the oil that takes the friction out of life.
~There are times when silence has the loudest voice.
~When God measures a person,
He puts the tape around his heart,
not his head.
~A kindness performed today,
makes the world a better place tomorrow.
Most people are other people.
Their thoughts are someone else's opinions;
their lives a mimicry;
their passions a quotation.
~You get people to do what you want,
not by bullying them or tricking them,
but by understanding them.
~Only you can decide how long you’ll wait for someone,
who has never done it before,
to finally be ready to talk things out,
before figuring out they aren’t going to.
~Forget about personality;
that’s the mask people hide behind.
Go for character;
that’s the person inside.
~By the time we realize our parents were right,
we have children who think we're wrong.
~Treat your children like plants:
give them lots of sunshine and room to grow.
~Don't listen to friends
when the Friend inside you says “Do this.”
unstable friends can destroy your peace of mind,
and lead you to the brink of your own sanity.
~Whenever you find
you are on the side of the majority,
it is time to pause and reflect.
~Failure is not falling down;
it's not getting up.
How many times do you get up?
As many as it takes.
~If you don't make mistakes, you don't make anything.
~People who don’t take ownership of their actions
- don’t accept responsibility for the consequences either.
~Different is not necessarily better
- but better is always different.
~You pass this way but once.
Any good you can do, do it now!
~If you don't think well of yourself,
no one else will, either.
~Not everyone you think highly of
will feel the same way about you.
~Instead of seeing the rug being pulled from under you,
learn to dance on a shifting carpet.
~Before you set your heart too much on anything,
take a look at those who already have it
and see how happy they are.
~The course of true love never runs smooth.
~What you do today is important
because you are paying a day of your life for it.
~You can't talk your way out of problems you behaved yourself into.
~No one can have a bad day they didn't choose to have.
~Don't let the past dictate who you are,
let it dictate who you will become.
~Anxiety doesn’t take today’s sorrows away,
but only empties today of it's strength.
~Don't think about the cost of doing something;
think about the cost of doing nothing.
~There's no beauty that you could perceive or create
if it were not already within you . . .
~A smile and "thank you"
won't cost you a dime.
But not doing either
may cost you plenty later!
~When we love,
we are the universe
and the universe lives in us.
~When you have not walked the miles in someone else's sandals,
felt the stabbing of their pain in your heart,
or experienced their powerful convulsions of anguish,
do not dare to judge anyone. . . 1
The moment in between what you once were,
and who you are now becoming,
is where the dance of life really takes place. 3
Only when your consciousness
is totally focused on the moment you are in
can you receive whatever gift,
that moment has to offer. 4
You often meet your destiny on the road you've taken to avoid it. 5
