Promise Yourself. . . .

    To be so strong
    that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health,
happiness
and prosperity
    to every person you meet.

To make
all your friends feel
that there is something in them.

    To look at
    the sunny side of everything
            and make
            your optimism come true.

To think only of the best,
to work only for the best,
            and to expect
                    only the best.

                    To be just as enthusiastic
                    about the success of others
as you are about your own.

                            To forget
                            the mistakes of the past
                    and press on
                    to the greater achievements
            of the future.

                    To wear
a cheerful countenance at all times
                    and give
                    every living creature you meet
                            a smile.

                            To give
                            so much time
                            to the improvement of yourself,
                                    that you have no time
                                            to criticize others,
                                                    or yourself.

To be too large for worry,
                            too noble for anger,
                            too strong for fear,
                    and too happy
            to permit the presence
    of trouble.

To think well of yourself
and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words,
but great deeds.

To live in faith
that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true
to the best that is in you.
1
That You Will . . .
Fear no opponent,
and respect every opponent.

Be more interested in character,
than reputation.

Character is what you really are.
    Reputation is
what other people say you are.

Focus on character.
Develop character.
It often takes 20 years to build a reputation,
and you can lose it in one bad day.

Focus on character.
Your solid reputation will be developed
if your character is solid.

                    I Promise . . .
that if you will meet yourself,
    you’ll like yourself,
and then your program will begin to work for you . . .
whatever program you choose.

And all the things you want
will begin to manifest.
And the work will become easier.
And you’ll find that even on your worst days,
you’ll have someone there that you love to support you –
yourself!

Spend a little time
thinking about your life,
the situations in which you tend to lose
or feel unsuccessful,
ask your friends and family
what your best
and worst qualities are.

    Consider what they say.
    But most of all,
take a look at yourself in the mirror.

                    Give yourself some quiet time.
                            You deserve it.
                    for . . .
the universe supports the reality of your beliefs
    absolutely.

When you believe you must struggle
for abundance,
then it will bring about situations
that are conducive to struggle;

when you believe
you cannot experience love without pain,
the universe will give you exactly that
- love with pain;

when you believe
it takes time for an illness to heal
- then so it will.

There is not a single force opposing you,
                    there is only ONE force
                            supporting you absolutely.

                                    It is called LOVE,
                            the force that birthed you,
that created you in its own image.

This love is so magnanimous
it will give you exactly
and absolutely
    whatever it is
            that your reality entails.

Change your beliefs and you change your reality. 2
"why do you always insist on taking the hard road?"
and I replied
"why do you assume I see two roads"? 5

There will come a time when you believe everything is finished.
That will be the beginning.  6
Promise yourself
that you’ll spend some time reflecting
on who you want to be.

            Then, make it so.
    Don't respond to life.
Respond instead
to the principle
that is the meaning of life.
Respond to the still unchanging nature of truth. 3

Whoever you are,
There is someone younger who thinks you  are
perfect.
There is some job that will go undone
If you don't do it.
There is someone who would miss you
If you were gone.
There is a space that you alone can fill. 4
