The future belongs to those
in the beauty
of their dreams.

To believe your own thought,
to believe that what is true for you
in your private heart -
- is true for all people –
that is genius. 4

I Believe . . .
That  hope springs eternal;
I hope that you find
what you’re reaching for,
the way that it is in your mind.

And  I want you to smile
And have a good day!
I Believe . . .
That our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are,
but we are responsible for who we become.

A Birth Certificate shows that you were born
I Believe . . .
That credentials on the wall
do not make you a decent human being.

A Death Certificate shows that you died
I Believe . . .
That maturity has more to do
with what types
of experiences you've had
and what you've learned from them
and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

Pictures record that you were here.
I Believe . . .
That either you control your attitude
or it controls you.

What is it that shows that you lived?
I Believe . . .
That we are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.

I Believe . . .
That we should never look down on anybody,
unless we’re helping them up.

I Believe . . .
That you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I Believe . . .
That before we can really change
the quality of our lives
that we have to truly face ourselves,
accept ourselves as we are
- that’s our starting point -
and drop the denial and pretence . . .
stop running  from ourselves . . .
and change direction -
to ourselves . . . 2

I Believe . . .
That sometimes when I'm angry
I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe . . .
That just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe . . .
That my best friend and I
can do anything or nothing
and have the best time.

I Believe . . .
That a man and a woman
can be best friends.

I Believe . . .
That true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance;
same goes for true love.

I Believe . . .
That sometimes the thing people want most,
is the one they push away the hardest,
as if it were the last thing they wanted;
and the closer it gets,
the harder they push.

You've got to hold out your hand
even when that's the last thing
I seem to want.
I Believe . . .
That no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that:
just as sometimes you’ll hurt them
and they need to forgive you for that.

I Believe . . .
That it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others,
you learn that sometimes you have to forgive yourself.

I Believe . . .
That we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change –
and that we change
- because life is change -
That we can do new things –
These enrich and deepen friendships.

I Believe . . .
Two people can look at the exact same thing
and see something totally different,
and that that this is okay
- they are different people,
each with their own life filter . . .

I Believe . . .
That you can keep going
long after you think  you can't.

I Believe . . .
That heroes are the people
who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done,
regardless of the consequences.

I Believe . . .
That your life can be changed
in a matter of hours
by people who don’t even know you.

I Believe . . .
That sometimes the people you expect
to kick you when you're down,
will be the ones to help you get back up;
and that sometimes, too, those you expected help from
will abandon you in your time of need.

Be grateful for the help you do receive -
don’t trivialize it
by your anger
and disappointment
over where it didn’t come from:
those who stepped up to the plate
are your real friends
-  your true family.

I Believe . . .
That even when you think
you have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you –
you will find the strength to help.

I Believe . . .
That no matter how badly
your heart is broken
the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe . . .
That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret,
until you’re truly ready for the answer . . .
It could change your life

I Believe . . .
That we must be careful what we ask for
and are willing to settle for,
because God may give it to us.

I Believe . . .
That while the freedom to make our own choices
is one of life’s greatest gifts -
our freedom is tempered
by the reality of others in our lives.

Our lives are the sum of our choices – yes -
yet  influenced by the choices others made –
and the realities we believed ours to be;
for we went with those
and  the options
we perceived ours to be.

Truer freedom opens to us when our choices
are widened by stepping outside our perceptual box.

I Believe . . .
The happiest of people don't necessarily have
the best of everything -
they make the most of everything;
because they already have happiness within. 1

I Believe . . .
That often we truly don’t know
what we’ve got
till it’s suddenly gone . . .

I Believe . . .
That the people you care about most in life
are often taken from you too soon,
and that we must treasure and nurture them
while we have them.

I Believe . . .
That you should always leave loved ones
with big hugs
and loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe . . .
That we should live life to the fullest each and every day,
Because there are four things we can never recover:
The Stone - after it’s thrown
Word  - after it’s been said
Occasion - after it’s missed
Time - after it’s gone.
We need to take time
to love all the important things
we cherish – every day.

It’s never to late
For a personal epiphany.
Any time
Can be the time
Where we learn to really love, and

I Believe . . .
That the beliefs that you held,
that you stood up for - fought for,
and  practised to the best of your ability,
and the lives you touched
and brightened in doing so,
are the credentials that made you a decent human being,
and became the actual record of you having
lived . . . 2

I Believe . . .
That it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.
I Believe . . .
