I am your Attitude
                            Our
                    Relationship
            I am seldom considered,
            though I do more
    to influence everything about you
    than virtually any one thing in your life.

    I often control
    the time you get up in the morning,
the time you go to sleep,
what you eat and drink,
and the very thought
that runs through your head.

I can make you
either happy or sad,
loving or hateful,
cheerful or remorseful,
congenial or spiteful;
and in doing so,
control the very capacity that you have
for success.  

                    Remorse, that feeling humans have
                    when they have caused hurt or harm;
            an antiquated idea
            based on a vanishing belief
    that we own our actions
    and are responsible for their consequences.

No,
you don’t often think of me.
Instead you blame the problem I create
on the shortcoming of others,
or the state of the economy,
or your family,
or a million other reasons.

Often,
at times when you unable
to find anyone else to blame,
you look for shortcomings
within yourself on which
to lay
    the blame.  

                    Looking within is usually a last resort.
                    Perhaps that “antiquated” feeling
            is not as extinct as it may seem,
            for even while you try to blithely ignore
    or outrun accepting responsibility,
    you cannot escape the feelings that were generated.
Those will resonate incessantly in your mind.

                    When my impact on your life
                    fully is considered
            in your every thought
            and action,
    when you are mindful
of my awesome power,
and groom me
for positive use
in your life,

I can become more contagious
than the most prolific disease
ever witnessed by man.

My influence will spread
to every person
you come in contact with.

Groomed and nurtured in a positive manner,
there will be no person or obstacle
that can stand in the way
of my success
- or
fail to be impacted
for the better.

Your life at any time can become difficult.
Your life at any time can become easy.
It all depends upon
how
you
adjust yourself to life.


Positive thinking
is simply
reacting positively
to a negative situation.
                            Negative-thinking people
                            drag everyone down . . .

So try to see the good in every situation.
(it isn’t always denial to do so)

You cannot always control your circumstances.
But you can control your own thoughts.

Things seem to turn out best
for those people
who can make
the best
out of the way things turn out.

It's not the situation,
It's your
reaction to the situation.

The reality of your life
may result from many outside factors,
none of which you can control.

Your attitude,
however,
reflects the ways in which you elevate
what is happening to you.

What has happened to you,
good or bad,
only your thinking makes it so.

    The longer I live,
the more I realize
the impact of attitude on life.

It is more important than the past,
    than education,
    than money,
    than circumstances,
    than failures, than successes,
            than what other people think or say or do.

            appearance,
    giftedness
or skill.

The remarkable thing is –
We have a choice in everyday of our lives
regarding the attitude we embrace for that day.

We cannot change our past.  
We cannot change the fact
that people will act in a certain way.  

We cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we
can do
is play on the one thing we do have
and that is our attitude.

I'm convinced
that life is 10%
what happens to me,
and 90%
how I react to it.  

And, so it is with you.

We are in charge of
and responsible for,
our attitudes.

                            In a world where taking ownership
                    of one’s attitude,
                    and responsibility for one’s actions
            no longer applies,
            is a world
    where “no”, no longer
    means
no -
for then everything,
and anything goes;
and we will have lost the essence
of our selfhood and humaneness.
Most people are other people.
Their thoughts are someone else's opinions,
their lives a mimicry,
their passions a quotation.

                    “If it feels good, and it hurts no one; do it”;
                    is life’s rule most people follow
            when they say they want to be happy,
            enjoy life, and have fun;
            logically they would make the corresponding decisions.
    Reasonably then, they will be happy, look happy,
    act happy  - smile and laugh a lot – many do.
Yet many more don’t -
who is it they’re kidding the most?

What you believe,
what you think about,

what you dwell upon . . .
is what
you multiply for yourself.

That’s the power of your Attitude.

. . . attitude . . .

Think (Be) Positive
There is a crack in everything;
that’s how the light gets in.
